Posttor and Postgasse
The Posttor (Post Office Gate) is an arched gate set into the town wall, located next to the sculpture park. This opening in the south-eastern section of the curtain wall was created during the town’s remodelling in the 20th century.
After exploring the artworks in the sculpture park, visitors can pass through the Posttor and cross the town wall to enter the historical old town.
The gate opens onto Postgasse, a narrow lane that leads directly to the main square (Hauptplatz). Upon emerging from Postgasse, visitors are greeted by the sight of the Plague Column (Pestsäule) – one of the square’s most striking and historically significant landmarks.
