New Fire Station

Since November 2017, the Fire Brigade of St Veit an der Glan has been operating from its new fire station, located at Wayerfeld, after a two-year construction period. The state-of-the-art facility enables rapid and efficient emergency response to protect the community.

The District Fire Brigade Command of St. Veit an der Glan is responsible for many fire brigade units in the region. There are 43 volunteer fire brigade units, made up of volunteers. There are also 4 industrial fire brigade units that work in companies or factories. In total, around 2,100 firefighters are actively involved in these units.

Their annual operations include approximately 550 fire incidents and over 2,000 technical rescue missions.

In the field of preventive fire protection, the brigade manages nearly 60 automatic fire detection systems. This involves planning, maintenance, and training company staff in theory and practical fire extinguisher usage.

The fire brigade also has a fire extinguisher trainer to conduct internal and external training sessions.
